In recognition of Dr. Zinner’s lifetime of achievement in academic surgery, the AASF is pleased to announce the new “AAS/AASF Zinner Trainee Research Fellowship Award” which will fund annually a resident to do clinical, health services, or education research.
Dr. Zinner has trained and mentored countless leaders of academic surgery, including past presidents of this society, members of the AASF board, current department chairs, and leaders in academic surgery across the country. He is the person who many surgeons turn to for advice and his influence in academic surgery is paralleled by very few others.
